A work made of small elements, it depicts little details of lives and work, travellers and change. Everyone in this little floating place is welcome, the people live and work together in productive lives. Arrival is a smaller format version of the work Welcome to Semaphoria, an installation during the Castlemaine State Arts Fesival 2017. The work was born from a deep anger at the way refugees are treated in my country.
Elements include a market, dock, 3 larger bamboo boats for passengers and cargo, multuple small bamboo boats with passengers, farmers with produce or workers.
Red dots appeared all over the work during the show. I’m not sure if it is a strange algae in the water but it does mean a few people can bring these little people into their lives after the exhibition.
